Artists: Shubzilla is a rap artist based out of Renton, WA. She debuted as an artist for Nerdcore Now's Vocalist/Producer Challenge 2011, where she was ranked 10th overall. The following year, Shubzilla's talent and bravado earned her second place.
No stranger to the stage, Shubzilla turned to rap as a creative outlet after years of training as a dancer. She has never looked back, addicted to fierce vocals that charge the audience. Remaining true to her former performance style, Shubzilla's sets are high-energy. Her lyrics invite the crowd to participate and become part of the show.
Already a staple in nerdcore rap, Shubzilla aims to be a part of the growing Seattle music community and beyond. She wants to contribute her talents to an already talented pool of artists that perform around the Greater Seattle Area. Shubzilla has performed in venues such as the Nectar Lounge, The White Rabbit, and The Shipwreck Tavern.
9k1 is an electro-pop group from the Seattle area. The group consists of DJ/producer Bill Beats, rapper/singer/producer Lex Lingo, and rapper Shubzilla. 9k1 made their debut last year at GeekGirlCon's first annual benefit concert. Since then, they have performed all over the Pacific Northwest and were a featured act at Nerdapalooza, a nerd music festival held in Orlando, Florida.
SAMMUS is an upstate New York-based rap artist, producer, and PhD student with Congolese and Ivorian family roots. Her production is characterized by her use of uniquely chopped samples and video game-like synths. Labeled the "rap Aisha Tyler" by MTV Iggy for her intelligent lyrics, Sammus has built a following within the underground hip hop scene and has become one of the faces of black female geeks within the growing nerdcore hip hop movement. As her Metroid-inspired name reflects, it is her hope that listeners and future fans will be pleasantly surprised by the contrast between the person society says she should be as an artist and who she actually is.
Death*Star is MC-3PO, C0splay, and Bill Beats. These storytellers of nerdcore have been rapping, awkwardly dancing, and gasping for air on stages around Seattle for last 5 years. Enjoy their tales of sad villains, sexual misadventures, video game addiction, and aggressive sandwich making.
A mix between EDM and Indie Pop Rock, Jonny Nero Action Hero mixes the sounds of his childhood with the music of his adulthood. A veteran of punk and alternative bands growing up, the moment he discovered chiptunes, he knew what direction he needed to go. Today, his shows are widely known for their frenetic energy pouring off the stage. When you go to one of his shows, be prepared to dance, laugh, and experience his music.
