The Senior School PTA is delighted to welcome you to the 2023 PTA Lecture which will be given by Suzanne Alderson, Founder of Parenting Mental Health a community and UK charity that supports parents of young people across the world. A published author, Suzanne wrote 'Never Let Go - How to Parent You Children Through Mental Illness' in 2020.
Suzanne will cover:
- the challenges parents and young people face - the 'Partnering, not Parenting' approach to supporting young people - how parents can support themselves when a child's mental health declines
13th June at 8pm Anniversary Halls Auditorium.
We hope you will join us for what promises to be an interesting and enlightening evening. The Bar opens at 7.30pm and again after the Lecture which will start at 8pm.
This event is free of charge. We ask you to book so we can accommodate numbers.
About Suzanne Suzanne started Parenting Mental Health after experiencing her own daughter's mental health issues after a period of sustained bullying. While the clinical care focused on her daughter, Suzanne recognised the lack of support for parents and the powerful role parents play in their child's recovery from mental illness.
