Mezzanotte at the Music Box -- Identikit (Griffi, Italy, 1974)
Do you know who you are? Get ready to go on a premeditated search for someone, anyone, to form the most dangerous liaison of all...
In what remains the most obscure, bizarre, and wildly misunderstood film of her entire career, and perhaps even all of 1970s Italian cinema, IDENTIKIT (aka THE DRIVER'S SEAT) stars Elizabeth Taylor as a disturbed woman who arrives in Rome to find a city on the brink of civil implosion, reflecting her own state of unmoored anxiety.
From there, Taylor navigates autocratic law, leftist violence, and her own increasingly unhinged mission to seek -- and find -- perhaps the most dangerous liaison of all.
Academy Award® nominee Ian Bannen (THE OFFENCE), Mona Washbourne (THE COLLECTOR) and Andy Warhol co-star in this hallucinatory neo-noir, which was photographed by three-time Oscar® winner Vittorio Storaro (APOCALYPSE NOW, THE LAST EMPEROR).
Tickets are available at two levels:
General $12 -- Screening only
Premium $20 -- Screening and piece of original art by local painter, designer, and costumer Amanda "Freja" Johanson. Choose from a range of small pieces on site to commemorate this one-night only screening of this extraordinary film.
