Long form story building AND Letting the Character do the work
11-130 Letting the Character do the Work Whether it's a play, musical, movie or any other story based structure, creating an improvised narrative requires the development of the collective mind; giving the group the ability to see the same direction and stay on the same page. The Story Building Workshop will utilize exercises specifically designed to strengthen the listening and choice skills required to create and grow a story. The class will workshop these exercises and then apply them to several story based improv structures.

About the teacher: Bill McLaughlin studied and worked with Del in Chicago and was part of his early long form experiments in the development of the Harold. Bill went to be a co-founder of The Chicago City Limits, New York's longest running comedy revue, and New York's First Amendment Improv Company, one of the first improvisational companies to perform at the Edinburgh Festival. He has conducted classes in New York and Philadelphia over the past 25 years and his college students have been ranked nationally in America's National College Improv Tournament.
