Future of Health: Jeffrey Masson: The Truth About Food
Our eating choices used to be so simple: cafeteria fare, or a lunch from home? But now, with organic, vegan, free-range, and locally grown options everywhere we shop and dine, there are more decisions than ever. And Jeffrey Masson, author of The Face on Your Plate and the earlier best-seller When Elephants Weep, says we need to be conscious of every bite we take, because our eating choices affect not only our moral selves and our health, but our planet as well. After 20 years of research and consideration of the emotional lives of animals, Masson has determined that a plant-based vegetarian, or vegan, diet is the most ethical and mindful. Presented as part of the Future of Health Lectures, with Bastyr University, PCC Natural Food Market, and University Book Store.
