Vishu 2023
Our forthcoming function in the temple is Vishu on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 6:00pm onwards followed by Preeti Bhojan. Please join us in Puja, Bhajans (Chanting), Aarti and Preeti Bhojan.
Vishu is an auspicious day celebrated as the first day of the New Year (Kolla Varsham) in Kerala.
Vishu means equal in Sanskrit and has astrological significance as this is the first day in the year where day and night are of equal duration. It is believed to be the day Lord Sri Krishna killed the demon, Narakasura, and brought harmony and peace to the world. Lord Vishnu is worshipped, especially on this day as he is the Lord of Time. It is also considered as a harvest festival as it marks the successful completion and beginnings of agricultural activities.
The Preeti Bhojan (dinner) will be served by the families of Priya & Ram Raman, Reshmi & Saibish, Jyothy Venu & Vinod, and Anju & Abhilash.
Please register to give the host families an idea of number of attendees.
