Seattle AWIS has been celebrating the achievements of women in the Pacific Northwest since 2013 with our annual banquet and awards. The annual banquet is an inspirational evening supporting and celebrating the achievements of all women in science.
At the banquet, you will hear from the 2023 Award winners, meet the AWIS scholarship recipients and enjoy the company of other supporters of women in STEM.
Seattle AWIS is honored to recognize three outstanding women who have advanced their fields of scientific research, education and outreach. They are leaders and innovators whose work has made an impact. They are mentors and inspiring role models for students and other professionals.
The 2023 Seattle AWIS Award recipients are: Dr. Michele Andrasik, PhD, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, for Science Advancement & Leadership; Dr. Melody Campbell, PhD, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for Early Career Achievement in STEM; Jennie Mayer, MS, Bellevue College for Excellence in Science Education/Outreach.
The public is invited to the banquet AWIS members and non-members, all genders and identities, students & professionals! Online ticket sales will open approximately May 1, 2023. Students, $30.00, AWIS Members, $35.00, AWIS Non-members, $40.00 (Service fee added if paying by credit card) If seating maximum is reached, a wait list will be started. SCHOLARSHIP DONATIONS: We encourage you to donate generously to the AWIS Scholarship Fund. Undergraduate women studying science, technology, engineering or math at a Washington college or university are selected based on outstanding letters of recommendation, financial need, community service and a strong interest in pursuing a career in STEM.
