Bluegrass Jubilee w/LAURIE LEWIS & KATHY KALLICK, Windy Hill
We welcome the California Bluegrass Association's Bluegrass Spring Jubilee concert featuring Laurie Lewis and Kathy Kallick with an all star band, performing the music of Vern Williams and Ray Park (who introduced Bluegrass to Northern California). Yes, two California bluegrass legends will play the songs of two other California bluegrass legends. Joining Laurie and Kathy are Tom Rozum on mandolin, Patrick Sauber on banjo, and Sharon Gilchrist on bass.
Opening the show is Windy Hill, one of the hottest, most dynamic young bluegrass bands the Bay Area has seen in many years. Ryan Breen (banjo), Thomas Wille (guitar), Kyle McCabe (bass), and Alex Sharps (fiddle) play the kind of straight-up classic bluegrass that satisfies the souls of the toughest traditionalists, as well as energizing new fans and inspiring them to learn more about the music The concert will be preceded by a bluegrass jam downstairs in the church at 5PM and goes on until 7:30PM.
