Dark Forest Virtual Performance
Dark Forest was inspired by real life events in the choreographer's life. It highlights the levity of finding friendship and creating family with the weight of responsibility that one feels when those bonds are broken or a family member or friend is lost. The plot of the Ballet revolves around the tragic loss of one of the main family friends after a fiery crash and how unfortunately death can sometimes reunite people and make them remember the importance of being loving towards those you cherish. In the end, there is a beautiful painting of a dark forest, created by one of the children of a survivor of the accident. She shows the painting and the family gathers around her to say how hauntingly beautiful it is. It shows how her artistry brought to light the beauty of life during one of the darkest periods of theirs as adults. Sometimes children have the most poignant way of highlighting life's enchantment which make adults remember innocence and joy when they can only think of the sorrow that loss brings.
