Bubonik Funk:
Bubonik Funk is a four-piece band, from Charlotte, North Carolina formed in 2006, consisting of Stefan Kallander (guitar, vocals), Dylan Ellett (vocals, organ), Nick Mcowen (bass guitar), and Daniel Allison (drums, vocals). With their funky, guitar-driven soulful sound, Bubonik Funk are regularly cited as a groove and jam band. However, the band's individualistic style draws from many sources and transcends any one music genre.
Bubonik Funk is held in high regard for their emphasis on independent management, full control of the creative process, and a widening sphere of popularity despite any aid from commercial companies or record labels. In 2007, the band began playing shows in the Charlotte area, venues such as Tremont Music Hall, Neighborhood Theatre, and the Evening Muse. By 2009, Bubonik Funk had played as far north as Boston, and for college crowds of UNC Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, UNC Wilmington and Berklee School of Music in Boston.
As of 2010, the band has released three E.P.s. "OTB" and "Wink at the Devil" and "Zabooki". all were self produced with a single production engineer, Dustin Hofsess. Creative control, album art and distribution fell in the hands of the band itself.
Bubonik Funk has played with respected musicians such as Jonny Lang, Soulive, Laura Reed and the Deep Pocket, Cyril Neville, and last July played Verizon Wireless prior to Phish. Guitarist Kallander was a member of the P-Funk ensemble at Berklee School of Music and has performed with George Clinton and Bernie Worrell. He is also a featured artist on The Big Ole Nasty Getdown with members of Fishbone, Mudvayne and Yo Mamma's Big Fat Booty Band.

Porch 40:
Edgy? Sure. Funky? No doubt. Punkish? Maybe. Porch 40 has been tearing up stages for the better part of a year, but it's still hard to describe their unique sound.
With their "grab your attention and won't let go" style, Porch 40's high energy sets quickly whip crowds into a frenzy. Combine that with their unequaled instrumentation, which include an electric violin and saxophonist, the band brings crowds a rejuvenating sound they won't find anywhere else.
While some bands are into gimmicks and image, this group of young, talented musicians have devoted their heart and soul into creating original music...and it shows every time they step on stage.
