SF Women's Film Festival presents Global Panorama Shorts Program
San Francisco International Women's Film Festival Unveils 2014 LINEUP of Fiercely Independent Films to Commemorate Women's History Month. Now in its 9th year, the San Francisco International Women's Film Festival (SFIWFF) will showcase a plethora of exciting and diverse films directed, written and produced by women. Be it quirky or provocative, there's one for every mood and everybody in the program!
Go around the world in one sitting with a selection of this year's best indie shorts by women from Malaysia, Australia, France, United Kingdom, and the US.

Kaulah Yang Aku Mahu (You Are The One I Want) (4 min, 2010, Malaysia) dir. by Mien Lor An older woman, a younger man, a simple love story. World Premiere.
Miss Todd (13 min, 2013, United Kingdom) dir. by Kristina Yee In 1910 New York, a woman had a dream: to fly. Miss Todd, our heroine, works to understand the principles of flight, as people all over the world were doing, but she has more than gravity holding her down. In this animated, stop-motion musical, Miss Todd's plight and adventure soar out of her forgotten presence in aviation history. SF Bay Area Premiere.
December 25 (1 min, 2012, Australia) dir. by Wendy Dent A Christmas message speaks louder than words. Produced without a camera, actors, interviewees or even animation, December 25 delivers a new take on Christmas- and the explosive significance of subtext. Mademoiselle Kiki et les Montparnos (14 min, 2012, France) dir. by Amelie Harrault 'Kiki de Montparnasse' was the unwary muse of major avant-garde painters of the early twentieth century. Memorable witness of a flamboyant Montparnasse, she emancipated from her status as a simple model and became a Queen of the Night, a painter, a press cartoonist, a writer and a cabaret singer. My Dear Americans (7 min, 2013, USA) dir. by Arpita Kumar New immigrants to the USA, a Sikh couple encounter racism on the patriotic fourth of July holiday. Witnessing her husband, Baldev, dwarf in the face of such hate triggers the wife, Tejpreet, into defiant action that redefines the racism aimed at them as well as their marriage.
Beside Her (16 min, 2012, USA) dir. by Carrie Carnevale Beside Her tells the story of Dr. Rachel Moretti and Sofia Rios and how in one brief moment in time, their love for each other is measured beyond the norms of their everyday lives. SF Bay Area Premiere.
Sweet, Sweet Country (19 min, 2013, U S A) dir. by Dehanza Rogers Living in a small Southern town, 20 year-old refugee Ndizeye struggles to support not only herself, but the family she left behind in a Kenyan refugee camp. Her struggle becomes so much more when her family literally shows up at her doorstep.
