Red Herring
Part love story, part murder mystery, part spy story - and all in the style of film noir - Red Herring is set in 1952, the height of the McCarthy era. A homicide detective tries to figure out who dumped a body in Boston Harbor as she deals with Soviet spies, nuclear secrets, and the G-man who wants to marry her. Written by Michael Hollinger, Red Herring was first produced by the Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia in 2000, winning the Barrymore award for outstanding new play.
