CINEMA PROGRAMME
The Play Poland Film Festival is the largest mobile film event in Britain, Norway and Canada, aiming at presenting and promoting contemporary Polish cinema. During an ongoing autumn festival, visitors have the opportunity to watch the latest full and short Polish productions, meet with filmmakers and producers, and take part in exhibitions and concerts. This year we start with a flourish by participating in the Hidden Door Festival where visitors will get to know the work of the one of the most celebrated animators in the world, Tomasz Bagiński.
As a self-taught artist he has established himself as a director and illustrator, whose animations have attracted global attention. His short film debut "The Cathedral" won the first prize at SIGGRAPH, the world's biggest festival of animation and special effects, as well as an Oscar nomination for the best animated short film. Since that incredible start he has collaborated on computer games, television commercials and stage shows and was awarded a BAFTA for his second short film 'Fallen Art' in 2002.
During the Play Poland event at the Hidden Door Festival there will be an unique opportunity to see not only the major works of Bagiński's craft, but also others authors from his Platiq Image School, celebrated in trade magazines from the United States to China and Japan.
