CINEMA PROGRAMME
The Hidden Cinema programme is proud to host an Animation Showcase featuring a pick of the best animation shorts from Edinburgh College of Art not only current students' work, but also some of the best work from award-winning past students too, and promises to absolutely spellbinding!
Hidden Door's cinema in Arch 17 will host a looping show of animation from Edinburgh College of Art that spans 15 years of films from one of the best animation departments in the country, you'll see films that have won BAFTAs, Royal Television Society Awards and Oscar nominations, as well as more unusual, thought provoking films that are rarely screened. These longer films will be interspersed with short experimental works completed in January this year. All of these shorter films were completed in a 24 hour period, and the students were required to make 1 a day, for 10 days. Animation students from Edinburgh, Salford, Sofia, Lucerne and Vancouver worked with musicians and composers from Edinburgh, Arnhem, Sofia and Plovdiv to create 465 films in 10 days. You will be seeing the films that were elected most interesting by the people who took part in the project.
