EUGENE CHADBOURNE
Musician, inventor, songwriter, author, activist, entrepreneur, theatrical producer, conduit, shaker of nerves, a renegade, blessed soul, a devil to those who should be scared, much, much more than Michael Moore, Eugene Chadbourne for over 30 years, has pushed buttons, envelopes, faders, and the boundaries of the underground artistic stage, more than just about anyone. On stage, Chadbourne plays instruments of his own design, as well as more conventionally recognized ones. At times, he is even in some semblance of known tuning. His daring - free flight into life - has had him sharing the global stage, in various capacities with, Boiled in Lead, Mojo Nixon, Mark Ribot, Bela Fleck, Utah Phillips, Fred Frith, Ronnie Gilbert, The Sun City Girls, Charlie Haden, David Moss, John Zorn, the Violent Femmes, good friend Jimmy Carl Black the Indian of the group, to name a very, very few. A duo tour once with new-grass banjoist, Tony Trischka, included a command performance at the home of author, William Burroughs. A 1991 Gulf War tour with Camper Van Chadbourne was the only European tour of this time, not to be cancelled because of terrorist paranoia. That says more than we can ever say here. His film credits include: a bit part in Wes Cravens film Shocker. His publications include: I Hate the Man Who Runs This Bar: A Survival Guide for Real Musicians
