Verge Center for the Arts, in partnership with the Center for Contemporary Art Sacramento, presents an artist directed summer kids camp designed to provide an immersive art making experience for budding artists. The Studio Art Camp will introduce children to a range of art making practices from painting, clay, sculpture and drawing, to photography and large-scale installation works. Each day will include a tour of a working Verge artist's studio, a brief historical overview of that artist's specific discipline, and a hands on workshop in a variety of mediums taught by the artist. At the end of the week students will get to show off their original works during an all day open house before taking their art home.
The Studio Art Camp takes advantage of the wealth of talented career artists working at Verge in the implementation of this program. Each class day will be taught by a different Verge artist who is an expert in their particular discipline.
This camp is made possible by the generosity of the RCA Community Fund.
