An Evening of Poetry and Prose with Robert Hass and Lyn Hejinian
Robert Hass is the author of many books of poetrty and prose, most recently, What Light Can Do: Essays on Art, Imagination and the Naturual World (Ecco). He served as the Poet Laureate of the United States from 1995-97 and has been awarded both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. He teaches English at the University of California, Berkeley.
Lyn Hejinian is an essayist, translator, scholar and poet. She teaches in the University of California, Berkeley English Department. Her most recent book of poetry is The Book of A Thousand Eyes (Omnidawn Books, 2012). In 2009, Hejinian founded the Solidarity Alliance at UC Berkeley, a coalition of unions, workers, staff, students, and faculty fighting against the privatization of public education.
$5-25 at the door. There will be a special fundraising dinner with Robert Hass before the event from 5 - 7 p.m.
