Dylanesque - Atherton Winter Season 2013-14
Rightly or wrongly, Bob Dylan was the voice of a turbulent generation. He became the enigmatic figurehead of the great social unrest of the 60's and beyond. He has been quoted and covered freely, and has quoted and covered others freely. Fiercely private and shy, he nevertheless changed us and the world in which we live. And along the way he wrote good tunes.
Dylanesque will be an earnest and grateful tribute to America's great songwriter. The appreciation will present two of Hawaii's Na Hoku Hanohano award winners - Jon Osorio, and Sonny Silva - in a most unusual collaboration of styles and approaches. Along with Jon and Sonny, will be Sandy Tsukiyama, Willow Chang, and making her concert debut, filmmaker Edgy Lee. Special guests include Allen Alexander, Jonathan Sypert, Duncan Osorio, and Yvonne Elliman.
