Automated Vehicular Gate Design for Safety Standard Compliance
The purpose of this course is to train design professionals on safety related design and installation methods for automated vehicular gates to insure that their designs are in compliance with current industry safety standards and the IBC, IFC, IRC and IPMC. These safety standards include the UL 325 Standard for Safety for Door, Drapery, Gate, Louver, and Window Operators and Systems, and the ASTM F2200 Standard Specification for Automated Vehicular Gate Construction.
Learning Objectives:
1.Have an understanding of the general provisions of safety standards that detail design and construction criteria for automated vehicular gates and know how to identify and eliminate entrapment areas.
2.Know the requirements for automated vehicular slide gates and how to design slide gates to be in compliance with the safety standards.
3.Know the requirements for automated vehicular swing gates and how to design swing gates to be in compliance with the safety standards.
4.Understanding of how to meet the industry safety standards and
compliance of the International Codes.
