SDG explores music from Bach to Broadway and features several members in solos and duets! We're thrilled to feature Canzona Women's Ensemble from San Luis Obispo. They will present a newly commissioned work by Dr. Meredith Brammeier of Cal Poly. Canzona's artistic directors are Cricket Handler and Jill Anderson.
Dr. Julie Carter has been the Director of Worship and Music at the First Presbyterian Church, Fresno for 20 years and leads the annual Messiah Sing-Along in Fresno . For six years she was Artistic Director of the Fresno Choral Artists. She has taught music at Fresno Pacific University and California State University, Fresno, and Sanger and Clovis High Schools. She is sought after as a choral adjudicator and clinician and is an accomplished soprano soloist. She received M.M. and D.M.A. degrees in Choral Music from Arizona State University, B.M. degree in Music Education from the University of the Pacific and has studied with William Dehning, Douglas McEwen and Donald Bailey.
The concert will feature works by Aaron Copland, Eric Whitacre, Z. Randall Stroope, Gioachinno Rossini, Imant Raminsh, and many other composers.
