Miss Honey B. and the fabulous Angels of Angel Burlesque are shining their glittery spotlight on Equality and bringing to the Athenaeum stage some of Indianapolis's best (and quirkiest!) performers, men and women alike, to celebrate equality in an art form more typically dominated by women.
Tickets are $150 for a VIP Table (sold in increments of 4 and listed as $37.50 each. You may select your preferred table but please keep your 4 seats at the same table). General admission is also reserved seating and priced at $25 per seat. This show is 18 and over.
In 1911, the Woman's Franchise League of Indiana was formed and became a driving force for the right to vote. The women of Indiana held rallies, marches, participated in parades, and lobbied the government. Over a 20-year period, no fewer than 10 woman suffrage bills were proposed to the Indiana General Assembly, with no meaningful successes. All were either rejected or not even considered.
We've come a long way, baby!
But while women finally won the right to vote in 1921, all are not equal under the law in Indiana. Rallies, marches, parades and lobbying continue and this night of entertainment celebrates those who fought, and continue to fight, for Hoosier equality.
Coming to the stage for this remarkable celebration are known gentlemen performers, Toby Poofs, Indigo, Rock HardAbs, and Gentleman Jack, as well as relative newcomers Dick Thickwick, and Dr. Unicorn with the introduction of French Accent, Boyonce' and even a few that are so brand spankin' new, they haven't decided on their stage names yet!!!
But fear not there will be lovely ladies as well, including the always fabulous Katie Angel, Jada Bella, Honey Bourbon, Lola LaVacious, Ginger Peach, Coty Foxfire, Ricki Swizzle, Layla Seduisant, Cora Noire, Frankie Spanxx, Minnie Ryder, Sylvestia Stiletto, Maria Meschi, Ru Bella, Maggie Missile, Sugar La Shock, Napoleon Brokenhearts and TEA! Karma D'Light, Theda Bare and again, some brand spankin' new folks who haven't decided on stage names yet! There will be stage debuts!
Hosted by Belle Breeze & Jeff Angel, with some incredible guests including the amazing Blanche DeBris of Las Vegas, this evening will amaze and delight.
With proceeds going to Indiana Equality Action, a major player in the recent win to keep bigotry out of our state Constitution, we encourage our audience to keep the momentum going, get out and vote, and participate, and lobby until all Hoosiers enjoy Equality!
