Inaugural Brandywine in Black 2014
Make a clean break from the Winter Blues and spring into Spring get into "the Black!"
Welcome to Brandywine in Black ... a unique and elegant evening for 'BYO' Wine and Food enthusiasts. Guests dress in black, provide their own picnic basket dinner, wine, centerpiece, candles and ambiance.
If you enjoyed Brandywine in White this past Summer, the theme is back only this time in 'Black.' Join us for the inaugural "Brandywine in Black" Flash Dinner on Sunday, March 23 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. As you know, we can't say where this is except that it's in Wilmington, DE and indoors of course. Rain, Snow or Shine and plenty of parking.
Here are a few things to keep in mind before saying "yes." (And we hope you do!)
The event is limited to 125. So buy your tickets today online. We established the venue online using Brown Paper Tickets to collect funds and secure your reservation. We prefer you make your payment via PayPal once you register on Brown Paper Tickets.
Because of our commitment to renting indoor space the cost is slightly higher than Brandywine in White. Naturally, since we added a charity benefit we ask that you bring some extra cash or your checkbooks to support the charity.
For your fee you will receive: A seat Black table dressing/linen (one per table) Priority notice for future events including Brandywine in White
Both the location and charity benefit will be announced at 5pm on Friday, March 21.
Doors open at 5:30 pm. Dinner begins promptly at 6:30pm. There will be music during dinner and dancing afterwards. There will be a small silent auction and brief presentation on the charity. Our goal is to raise awareness and a few extra dollars. The silent auction items can be viewed during the reception and after dinner. The Silent auction winners will be announced at 8:30 pm.
The theme is "Black." This only means that the dominant color of the evening is black attire and black accents at your table. We encourage tables to be decorated in black and white for the most part. Some accent color allowed, floral greens. The "best" table will be recognized and rewarded!
Candles are allowed only if they are contained and/or have your own linen beneath them. We have to buy table linens damaged with wax. Please help us.
You bring your own food and wine and table service that's what a Flash Dinner is. It's kind of cool and subtly competitive. We encourage elegance and decadence.
Baskets are allowed tableside. Large plastic containers, other colored totes will not be allowed on the dining floor but we will have a staging area for you to safely leave these.
Food must be prepared ahead of time. If you wish to maintain heat on your food, you are allowed a chaffing dish with a Sterno.
No service tables allowed in the dining area. This area is limited in size and is exclusively for dining and dancing. If needed, there is limited counter space for unpacking and organization before going to your table. You are allowed to set up at your table but all service items are to be in the staging area by the time dinner starts.
Trash and recycling are available and it is your responsibility to clean up.
If you don't want to prepare food, Montrachet Fine Foods at The Centreville Café can provide some basket options. You can call Montrachet at (302) 425-5808
