LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE - An epoch film for Mexican movie-making, LIKE WATER creates its own intense world of passion, longing, magical realism, and glorious food. Set in a Mexican border town circa 1910, a young couple, Tita and Pedro, are deeply in love. But they are forbidden to marry, as Tita is designated to remain a spinster and care for her mother. So Pedro weds Tita's sister to stay close to Tita and her magical cooking. 1992 - 113 minutes - Rated R - subtitled
The film will be followed by a hosted discussion with Chef Melinda Lucas & George Lewis of the BIMA Bistro.
The BIMA Bistro will remain open until 7pm in advance of each screening and is planning menu offerings to complement each film for guests who want to dine before the film.
