smARTfilms: CHOCOLAT
BIMA smARTfilms series fosters community conversation through the merger of visual art, film, and narrative. After the screening, our host and guest(s) will initiate a discussion about the film and its art. All are welcome to participate in an open exchange of ideas during these post-film discussions.
CHOCOLAT - Set in 1959, a mysterious woman and her daughter move into a small French village and open up a chocolate shop - which shakes up the rigid morality of the community. CHOCOLAT is beautiful to behold and easy to digest. Directed by Lasse Hallstrom. Stars Juliette Binoche, Judi Dench, Alfred Molina & Johnny Depp. 2000 - 121 minutes - Rated PG-13)
The film will be followed by a hosted discussion about the film with Guest Chef Greg Atkinson of Marché.
The BIMA Bistro will remain open until 7pm in advance of each screening and is planning menu offerings to complement each film for guests who want to dine before the film.
