Next month, bend your ear and listen to the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco and City Swing as we present Swing Break, two glittering evenings of singing and big band jazz. Marvel at the magically transformed Mission Cultural Center resembling a Hollywood supper club of old. LGCSF Artistic and Music Director William Sauerland and City Swing Conductor and trumpeter Bradley Connlain will be your co-hosts. Special guests QueerJitterbugs.com will sweep the crowd into a toe-tapping frenzy, and local treasure Tom Reardon promises to mesmerize the audience with his unmatched vocals.
Since 1984, City Swing, an 18-piece big band, has delighted audiences by bringing to life the sounds of big band jazz and its greatest composers. LGCSF's full chorus, soloists, and small groups will share the stage with the band. Audiences will be enchanted by such vocal classics as "Tenderly" and "Chattanooga Choo Choo" and instrumental selections by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Glenn Miller.
Adult beverages, snacks and dancing will be a part of this glitzy evening. To fully enjoy the festivities, audience members are encouraged to don their fancy attire and be ready to dance to the swinging, sensational music. A limited number of Cabaret seats with complimentary glass of wine will be available. Swing Break is appropriate for all ages. Come see the show!
