LEAETHER STRIP **their ONLY area appearance of 2014** with special guest Hirsute Pursuit
LEAETHER STRIP is a Danish musical project founded in 1988 by Claus Larsen. Its influence has been most felt in the electronic body music and electro-industrial genres.
Leæther Strip was one of the earliest and most prominent acts on Germany's now defunct Zoth Ommog record label. For distribution outside of Europe, the music has been licensed to the U.S. labels Cleopatra Records and Metropolis Records. In 2013, Leæther Strip celebrated 25 years of glorious industrial music. In 2014, Leæther Strip has put together a small tour of the United States with his onstage and life partner Kurt, so they may sightsee throughout the country. After the NYC show in 2012 with DIVE, this is sure to be another MUST SEE concert event!!
HIRSUTE PURSUIT are Bryin Dall (who has worked with Genesis P'Orridge in Thee Majesty and released an album of interpretations of Hank Williams songs) and vocalist Harley Phoenix.
Without any publicity or releases, Hirsute Pursuit has had over 140,000 plays in less than a year! Drawing fans from all musical genres, including House, Country, Rock, Hip Hop, etc. Primarily attracting a gay audience, recent fans also include female dominatrixes, middle-class housewives and straight guys (as is evidenced in the video, Boys Keep Swinging featuring Boyd Rice and James Pope, both straight). The raw sensuality has now crossed over into the heterosexual domain.
Hirsute Pursuit's only other appearance in NYC came in Feb 2013 playing with NON among others, to a packed house.
