Chancel Arts at Kent Lutheran presents The Seattle Violin Piano Duo
The Seattle Violin Piano Duo has played as a duo for over a decade. Originally from South Korea, they have studied with world-renowned teachers and are continually expanding their musical studies. Their broad variety of repertoire ranges from classical music to jazz, pop, ragtime, and Christmas music. They play anything from church music to opera excerpts, and create an especially beautiful ambiance with popular film classics.
The pianist has studied under Dr. Samuel Hsu, a student of famed pedagogue, Rosina Lhevinne. She has a bachelor's degree for piano performance from the University of Washington under Dr. Robin McCabe and is currently pursuing a master's degree under her tutelage.
The violinist is a former student of the prestigious school, Interlochen Arts Academy. She currently studies with Seattle Symphony's previous concertmaster, Maria Larianoff. She has been concertmaster of many student orchestras and is a current member of various well-known orchestras in Washington.
