Spring Song Ceremony for Ostara
The Spring Equinox full moon is traditionally a time to gather to celebrate the goddess Ostara. Ostara is the origin of the word given to Easter. She is the Great Mother of fertility who brings the warmer days and gentle rains, encouraging the sweet flowing waters of the springs, and the spring sunshine that invigorates the earth and gives rise to new flowers and the blossoming of the trees. She who brings the perfection of pure love that abounds in the pristine beauty of new life!
So let us gather in this beautiful way, to sing our love and praises at this spring equinox full moon, and give thanks for the renewal of the earth. Alix and I will hold a circle, and invite you to share songs and poems and prayers together. We would really appreciate your presence and offerings, so please don't be shy, although there is no pressure to share, you can also just come to receive the goodness of being together.
We recommend bringing a sheepskin and/or some cushions to sit on as we will sit on the floor, but there are chairs available to those who would like.
Please arrive on time at 6:30pm as we will start and finish together as a circle. We will aim to finish around 9:30pm, although you are welcome to leave before the end if you have to.
Donations to help with organisation and expenses are very appreciated, we suggest £15 / £10, but all welcome regardless. Children are welcome, with respect to the calm, listening, sharing space we are creating. Feel free to invite anyone you think would appreciate it.
With much love and delight of the season,
Michael and Alix xx
