OPERATION: DAS KABARETT
Vaudeville entertainment slides into opera houses as easily as a politician slides into prison.
And, let's face it, besides the $200 ticket, what's not to love about the opera? They're filled with adulterous relationships, murderous blood-shed and enough cases of mistaken identity to drive Shakespeare out of his mind. Before they were staged inside mausoleums, they were quite the ruckus affair.
We all relate to the storylines found within Puccini's LA BOHEME, Gay's BEGGAR OPERA and Weill's 3 PENNY OPERA.
Barnaby's [sfBoylesque]promises everything but a stuffy night at the opera in this month's DAS KABARETT, liberally "borrowing" material from R. Kelly, Queen and The Loony Tunes.
Before the evening's over, you'll surely be begging, "Rock me, Amadeus" as well as crying "La vie, Boheme!"
Even The Phantom, himself, is scheduled to appear (and disappear) before your very eyes.
This 90-minute, stripped down spectacular features world-class circus performers and SF OPERA alumni alongside, quite possibly, the sexiest male dance troupe you've ever seen.
