Cinematography & Lighting with Bob Elfstrom
THE SEBASTOPOL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS A SPECIAL CINEMATOGRAPHY PROGRAM Featuring Bob Elfstrom
"With two milk crates of lighting gear, I can turn this room into a hospital, a cave, or a candlelit dinner party. And the thing is, it's not as difficult as you think."
Among the best in his field, Bob Elfstrom has over 40 years experience behind the camera. In addition to having shot and directed award winning documentaries, including Johnny Cash: The Man, His World, His Music, Gimme Shelter, and The Running Fence, he has shot for dozens of major TV programs and networks including American Masters, NOVA, and National Geographic Explorer. In addition to his cinematography career, Bob runs both Basic and Advanced Lighting Workshops out of his state of the art studio in the Castro where he takes his students' shooting skills and visual literacy to the next level.
In this session, Bob shares his 40-year love affair with light and illuminates for us the many ways in which light defines the way we see. He'll take us behind the scenes to break down the mystique and show us how anyone can be a better cinematographer.
Advanced ticketing is recommended.
