Small Acreage Tour - Moonstruck Meadows
Join us for a tour of Moonstruck Meadows as we hear from Ridgefield Equine Clinic's Anne Marie Ray on horse care, and learn tips from the stable owner for reducing mud, improving pastures and keeping animals healthy while implementing sound stewardship practices! Moonstruck Meadows was recognized by WSU Clark County Extension's Small Acreage Program as a Model Property in 2005 for great efforts made by the landowners to control stormwater, reduce mud, manage pastures and implement best management practices that improve operations while protecting water quality and natural resources.
This tour will cover a wide range of small acreage and animal management topics such as horse nutrition, footing materials, grazing practices, manure management, fencing, drainage solutions and much more. Come learn about how the landowners achieved recognition as a Model Property and how best management practices have improved their property and protected natural resources, while saving time and money.
Bring your family (no young children please) & friends and questions you have about your property. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring a water bottle and wear sturdy boots as we'll be in the field. Resources and refreshments will be provided.
This tour is put on by the Small Acreage Program which is made possible by joint sponsorship from WSU Clark County Extension and Clark County Environmental Services Clean Water Program.
WSU Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Persons requiring special accommodations should call WSU Clark County Extension at (360) 397-6060 ext. 0 at least two weeks prior to the event.
