Lourdes Colon wanted to make an impact on the world that would enrich the lives of others. As an actress she felt that she was on the right path. She always believed that as an successful actress she was going to be a role model for women to always follow your dreams. While Lourdes was relentlessly pursuing her dreams she also dealt with tragedy when her family and even close friends that she grew up with started to suffer from cancer. The impact hit closest when her sister had to fight cancer. Lourdes was by her sister's side through her Chemo, hair loss, and diminished lifestyles. Lourdes knew that there had to be a better way. So when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Lourdes was wracked with emotion. Where others would feel terrified and hopeless Lourdes knew two things right away. One: She had been given an opportunity to be the change in the world that she had long yearned for, and Two: She was going to take on her cancer by fighting it naturally, and becoming her own social scientist. Lourdes exposed herself to any camera she could while allowing herself to be the experiment and showing the world what can cure cancer and what spreads cancer. She took on what Option C was.
