Macbeth
Sylvester Manor presents one of the most harrowing and intimate plays, Shakespeare's Macbeth, at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church. Drew Foster, director of this past summer's popular production of "Much Ado About Nothing," and his company of actors are returning to Shelter Island to perform this classic and bloody play, about one man's unchecked ambition, and what unfolds when he uses manipulation and violence to further his quest for power.
Performing within the environment of the church sanctuary, this production continues Sylvester Manor's efforts to bring Shakespeare to our island community. Friday, March 7 and 8 7pm, doors open at 6:30 pm Adults, $20. Students $7
About Director Drew Foster: Directing Fellowship, Chautauqua Theater: ARCADIA, R/X, WINTER'S TALE. Juilliard School: BLUE WINDOW, KING LEAR, HAMLET. As an actor: 1st National Tour, WEST SIDE STORY (dir Arthur Laurents); Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Island Shakespeare Festival, Florida Studio Theater, Red Bull Theater, and company member of the Asolo Rep (5 seasons). Most recently: THE LAST GOODBYE (Old Globe dir. Alex Timbers).
