LA Women's Fest Shorts Program Three
Red Dot
Morgan Gates is the typical all-american girl and registered sex offender. Let us explain. One drunken night, she 'popped a squat' outside of a bar. She got busted midstream, charged with lewd conduct, and was subsequently charged as a sex offender. Running out of options, she moves back home with her WASP mother and must complete her court mandates, namely notifying neighbors of her presence. When one of the neighbors turns out to be the man of her dreams, Morgan discovers a whole new world of dating struggles.

The Ticket Seller
The Ticket Seller is a short film, with minimal dialog, inspired by the Norman Rockwell painting of the same name. The film opens with the ticket seller, an elderly gentleman, going about his daily work. It is a rhythmic grind he has know for over 25 years. As he works, he observes the people across the platform as they come and go while reflecting on lost love and missed opportunities. What might have been different in his life had he traveled as they do? And what small acts inspire that confidence to give up the known and follow your dreams?
