THE REAL MCCOY
The compelling and tragic story of Black Canadian inventor and thermo-dynamics engineer Elijah McCoy, born near Colchester, Ontario circa 1843. The child of fugitive American slaves, Elijah's crowning career achievement changed the course of the rail industry, and coined the popular expression 'The Real McCoy'. This story transports its audience to a time when the colour of one's skin outweighed intellect and innovation. It is an invitation into the mind of a genius, painted with memories of a happy loving childhood, marred by the cruelty of an intolerant world.
