Lantern Molly is a young girl with a disability of one leg being much shorter than the other. She lives on the last island in her village, which is a series of rock pillars jutting out of the ocean. Late one night, as she is reading, Molly hears the sound of an approaching ship. She knows that the ship will crash in to the sharp rocks in the fog. Molly quickly decides she must warn them. She begins the long and difficult journey to the top of the hill, overcoming setbacks and the challenge of being disabled. Once she reaches the top of the hill, she must climb the huge tree and warn the ship that there is land ahead with her tiny lantern.
The Hero Pose Mia is spending the weekend with her father. She is eight years old and wants to do anything except hang out with her dads while he tries to sell an old car that doesn't run. As the afternoon progresses, Mia and Joe uncover a lot about their relationship and end up connecting with one another in an unusual way.
