Greater Boston House Concerts is proud to present virtuoso classical guitarist Lily Afshar

FROM PERSIA TO EUROPE is a special program by celebrated classical guitarist Lily Afshar.  Highlighting her international travels and upbringing, Ms. Afshar performs music from two centuries and spanning western classical music and Persian folk music.  Experience her virtuosity of up close in a historic 1885 home, as intimate as music can be.

ABOUT LILY AFSHAR:
Lily Afshar is Professor of Guitar at the University of Memphis. She has taught master classes and performed concerts world-wide. She received the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award from Boston Conservatory, and an NEA Recording Award, among others. She received a DM from Florida State University, an MM from the New England Conservatory and a BM from the Boston Conservatory. She also received 3 Diplomas of Merit from the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy. She has recorded six CD's and published two books with Mel Bay Publications. She has released two volumes of instructional DVDs called "Classical Guitar Secrets" with Guitar Control. For more information see www.lilyafshar.com

GREATER BOSTON HOUSE CONCERTS:
Founded by classical guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan Greater, Boston House Concerts began in 2010 and has since presented close to 20 different artists from around the world in the inmate salon setting of a grand 19th Century home in the historic Dorchester neighborhood of Boston.

Each concert is followed by a Q&A with the artists and a reception, where audience members can obtain autographs from the artists on their newly purchased CDs.  While refreshments are served it is a BYOB or wine event.
