Mardi Gras Party 2014

The Whiteside Theatre Foundation proudly announces that on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 the theatre will host the first Family-Friendly Mardi Gras Party. There will be a small indoor parade, a concert by the band "Gumbo,"fun activities and vendors offering face painting, mask making, and Louisiana treats!

The Indoor Parade will kick off the evening starting at 6:00 PM. The parade will include miniature floats, walking groups and other exciting entries. Prizes will be given to winning parade entries and the Mardi Gras Monarchy 2014 will be crowned in front of the audience! The Monarchy will be made up of people who have volunteered the most hours with participating non-profit organizations in our community. The parade theme this year is Exuberance and use of the traditional set of Mardi Gras colors: Purple, Gold, and Green is encouraged.

Let the good times roll! Come and participate! Entry forms for individuals, families, groups, businesses, and non-profits wishing to join the parade are available at whitesidetheatre.org. Entry fees start at $5. All entries must be able to fit through an 84" tall by 37" wide door frame. While cups and necklaces are traditional Mardi Gras parade giveaways, we highly encourage your group to create or make collectible souvenirs to be handed out to the spectators the limited number of these make them special. With the exception of service animals, no animals are permitted in the Theatre. For the safety and enjoyment of all, parade give-away items must be HANDED to individuals.
