Factory Parts III
Last summer, we hosted 10 visiting theater companies for fresh-out-of-the-box ensemble pieces.  This year, we're continuing to nurture four of these pieces in April.

Program A:
Arc:Hive - A Moment (Un)Bound: Or, the Unreal Past
foolsFURY - The Seeing Place

Program B:
Affinity Project - Nocturne
foolsFURY - Baden-Powell Wars

Join us to see the latest development of these works-in-progress.

Arc/hive (Palo Alto)
Hidebound explores the tension between what we hold onto and what we let go of, inspired by the notes and clippings left behind in the books donated to Friends of the Library. Drawing on the traditions of Commedia, autobiographical and multimedia storytelling, it reveals a mélange of characters inhabiting a scrapwork quilt of stories real and imagined.

foolsFURY (San Francisco)
The Seeing Place - Antigone, Medea, and Oedipus. What do these epic figures of classical antiquity have to say to us today? This pieces begins an exploration of the relationship of Greek tragedy and backyard Democracy. How can we reawaken the theater as the 'seeing place' (theatron) from which the word derives?

Baden-Powell Wars (San Francisco)
An irreverent exploration of the man who ignited the Boy Scout craze, Baden-Powell Wars mashes up the frontal cortex and down the khaki shorts of the Boer War hero turned world leader of young men who may have had feelings for the African chief he put to death. Who was he? Was he brave? Was he kind? Was he splendid? Be prepared.

The Affinity Project (San Francisco)
Loosely inspired by a short story about sleepless nights by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, Nocturne revolves around a number of rituals that three women enact together and separately, and the sudden rupture of those rituals. Nocturne inhabits the late-night hours, when the daytime body is repossessed by what it refuses: its memories, its desires.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, ACME Performance Projects will not be performing The Laurette Taylor Experience for this round.
