Love, Loss, and Love Again

The Downtowner Concert Series, in collaboration with Fire Haus Projects, proudly presents its newest event: Love, Loss, and Love Again. Taking place on April 28, 2023 at 7:30 PM, the concert will be hosted at Saint Johns on the Lake, 4760 Pine Tree Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33140.

The evenings program is a promising line-up of Liszts Tre Sonneti di Petrarca, Vaughn Williams Songs of Travel, Turinas Tres Poemas, and many more prized compositions as beautiful as they are ambitious, including selections from Rachmaninov, Bolcom, Strauss and Bizet. Gerardo José Ortega, Tenor, and Robert Fernandez, Baritone, will be the headlining vocalists. Mr. Ortega was just recently reviewed by the South Florida Classical Review for singing The Voice of God in Orchestra Miamis Road of Promise with sweetness and resolute heft. Baritone Robert Fernandez, a fresh newcomer to Miami stages, interpreted Charlie Brown and Judas/John the Baptist to much success in Youre a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Godspell.

At the piano will be husband and wife power duo Kirk Whipple and Marilyn Morales. The world renowned concert pianists are fresh off of their success from the world premiere of Always Remember, composed by Ms. Morales with musical arrangements and direction by Mr. Whipple.

Enjoy a decadent selection of music - with a playful ending - and a light reception to follow.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for only $25 admission, $20 students with ID or $30 at the door.
