As You Like It
As You Like It is a story of friendship, sibling rivalry, and what happens when a lot of rich urban people go live in the woods. It's zany, fast-paced, and full of joy. It contains some of the best wordplay and sparklingly witty banter in the entire Shakespeare canon, including many cynical quips on the nature of love-- but at its core, it is a love story, the romantic ballad of a woman who wins her truelove's heart while wandering around disguised as a man. Wait, what? Good question! Come see the play to find out. This particular production will feature some gender-bent casting, an ensemble-generated costume design, and original music by Ben Masterton, last heard at the the 1988 Idaho Shakespeare Festival. Cast: Kate Booth (Celia), Benjamin Cormalleth (LeBeau, Silvius), Kathleen Donoghue (Amiens, Phoebe), David Federman (Touchstone), Alyson Grauer (Oliver), Gabriel Faith Howard (Corin, Jaques), Jesse Hutson (Charles, Martext, Jaques de Boys), Elizabeth Kelly (Duke Frederick, Duke Senior), Erin Kelsey (Rosalind), Stephen McClure (Orlando), Alexis Meuche (Adam, Audrey). Directed by Gwen Kelly-Masterton, stage managed by Margaret Morton.
