The Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra returns to Best Place in the Historic Pabst Brewery with musical director and acclaimed classical guitarist Rene Izquierdo.
The concert features:
- MMO musical director Rene Izquierdo and wife and musical partner Elina Chekan sharing their extraordinary talents as world-renowned classical guitarists.
- The MMO playing the best in traditional American mandolin orchestra music - waltzes, tangos, marches and polkas, plus light classical, modern, Italian and Latin numbers.
- Special Guest Rick Kiefer singing vocal numbers from the MMO's repertoire.
The MMO was founded in 1900 and plays music arranged for 1st and 2nd mandolin, mandola, mando-cello, mando-bass, guitar, percussion and voice. The MMO has appeared twice on "Prairie Home Companion" and plays at music festivals and concert halls throughout the Midwest.
