Erin Inglish with Special Guest Puppeteer Anna Cosper
Join us for a special evening at Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater with California banjo songstress Erin Inglish and guest artist and puppeteer Anna Cosper. The show will feature original songs and stories by internationally-touring folk troubadour Erin Inglish, as well as a sneak-preview of vignettes from her new children's show by Inglish and Cosper set to debut in March 2014. An inspirational show fun for all ages!
Erin Inglish is a unique and inspired female songwriter. Following in the footsteps of folk activists and storytellers such as Pete Seeger, John Hartford, Utah Phillips and Woody Guthrie, Inglish is a solo act with a clear voice, expressive banjo, body percussion, and thoughtful songs. This internationally-touring, banjo-wielding woman presents a "raw, sweet and sincere Emmy Lou-ish sound[and] she makes the banjo sound like a musical instrument" (fan, North Carolina). From the kind and conscientious messages in her songwriting, to her magnetic and entertaining stage-presence, Inglish is a consummate performer and humanistic storyteller. She is a "retired" engineer, has lived abroad for four years in five countries, and her songwriting reflects her worldly travels and grounding passion for sustainability and art. In April, 2013, Inglish released a solo album titled *A Melody So Sweet* and then toured by bicycle the entire coast of California to celebrate Earth Month. She is also the organizer of the largest collaborative project in the world amongst female banjo players the Banjo Babes 2014 Calendar & Showcase Album. In March 2014, Inglish will take to the road by bicycle again for her second-annual Earth*Bike*Banjo tour, debuting a one-of-a-kind banjo/puppet kids show called "The Good Folk Show" with artist Anna Cosper. www.erininglish.com Anna Cosper is a visual artist and puppeteer based out Portland, Oregon. Cosper studied illustration at CABK Art Academy in the Netherlands, where she specialized in stop-motion animation. She animated for television and galleries before becoming involved in theater productions in the Netherlands and abroad. Cosper completed the UNIMA School for Puppet and Object Theater in Amsterdam in 2008. She has given workshops in animation and/or puppetry in Botswana, Burma, the Netherlands, the US, and Thailand. She will be joining and bicycling with Erin Inglish's Earth Bike Banjo 2014 Tour debuting their original musical, "The Good Folk Show" by Inglish and Cosper a fun and inspirational children's show!
