The Nightingale
The Hyde Park School of Dance and Artistic Director August Tye present a revival of their original production of "The Nightingale" on March 15th and 16th, 2014, at The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts located at 915 East 60th Street in Chicago.
Based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson, "The Nightingale" explores the story of an emperor who prefers the tinkling of a bejeweled mechanical bird to the song of a real nightingale. When the Emperor is near death, the nightingale's song restores his health.
Perfect for children of all ages and adults, the cast of 83 dancers features Hyde Park School of Dance students ages 7 - 18.
AER Dance Theater will present a pre-show performance prior to "The Nightingale" as well.
