Up and Comer Sunday Supper, at The VUDE
Being a Seattle foodie is to know the big name chefs like Jason Wilson, Brendan McGill, Mike Easton, Jason Stratton and others. At The VUDE, we have been thinking, while the events we have held with these chefs have been great, there are a whole group of new chefs who are ready for their breakout performance! And so an idea was born. We have been scouring the vast Puget Sound wilderness in search of some of the best chefs that are "in the shadows" and who may not have gotten the headlines...yet!. And with that, The VUDE presents a dinner series, called "Up and Comer Sunday Suppers." No one wants to be last to the table, so join us to kick off this series on Sunday, February 23 ,2014 with Executive Chef Cody Westerfield of Lecosho restaurant, as he offers up a multi-course wine paired glimpse into Seattle's promising food scene future! Chef Westerfield's culinary career began in 2007. After a midterm switch from nursing school to culinary school, he was as inexperienced as culinary students come. But Cody quickly acclimated to life in the kitchen and dove into the culinary scene head first, building experience in a variety of kitchens including, Serafina Osteria Enoteca, Via Tribunali, Boom Noodle, and Nijo Sushi all in Seattle. In the winter of 2007 Cody flew to Europe and spent four months cooking in kitchens in Switzerland, Germany and France. Upon graduation, Cody spent the next four years working in kitchens in Salt Lake City as the Sous Chef of Fresco Italian Cafe, or the Metropolitan.
A job offer in the form of a phone call from a close friend, Executive Chef Christian Chandler (currently of Serafina) brought Chef Cody his wife, and baby daughter back to Seattle to become the Executive Chef of Lecosho.
Cody is thrilled to be back in Seattle, doing what he loves, and is thrilled to spoil you lucky foodies with a 7-course wine-paired meal featuring Hand of God Wines and Tieton Cider Works' Wild Washington Apple Cider, made with apples grown in the Yakima Valley. The idea of this series is to give you an insider's seat for these amazing chef's, and we encourage you to attend a couple of these events, if not all three! As a special offer to VUDE member's tickets for each event are only a suggested $99 ALL INCLUSIVE, instead of the normal $125. In only a matter of time, the cat will be out the bag about this rising star of Seattle's culinary community, so click here and buy your tickets today while they are still available. Note: Please sign up at www.thevude.com for a free membership and to get details about our events. You can invite others to purchase tickets, but they'll all have to register through our website.
Our tickets are non-refundable. You may transfer tickets to a friend, but no refunds will be issued.
