Jacques Demy France 1970 1h 30m Series - Springtime with Jacques
About (Jacques Demy, France, 1970, 90 min, in French with English subtitles)
Jacques Demy brings the classic French fairy tale by Charles Perrault to life in his shimmering, technicolor fantasy adaptation. Demy leans into his love for satire and all things beautiful, making a film that would stand to influence filmmakers for years to come, including Anna Biller, director of The Love Witch.
Continuing her working relationship with Demy, Catherine Deneuve returns as a princess who takes the untrodden path to escape being married to her own father. With the help of the ethereal and elegant lilac fairy, the princess is encouraged to embark on a journey of independence.
In spite of the looming threat of father-daughter betrothal, practical effects and dreamy cinematography instantly transport viewers into a whimsical world of medieval love and cat couches!

Accessibility
Ticketing, concessions, cinemas, restrooms, and our public edit lab are located on Northwest Film Forum's ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible. We have a limited number of assistive listening devices available for programs hosted in our larger theater, Cinema 1. These devices are maintained by the Technical Director, and can be requested at the ticketing and concessions counter.
The Forum does NOT have assistive devices for the visually impaired, and is not (yet) a scent-free venue. Our commitment to increasing access for our audiences is ongoing, and we welcome all public input on the subject!
If you have additional specific questions about accessibility at our venue, please contact our Patron Services Manager at maria@nwfilmforum.org
