Triumph of Tchaikovsky
Join us for a lovely Spring Masterworks Concert featuring the works of three incredibly talented composers, Felix Mendelssohn, Frederick Gulda, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
We will start with Mendelssohn's delightful romantic overture, The Hebrides or The Fingals Cave by Felix Mendelssohn, a piece which was inspired by the composer's travels to Scotland.
Next, we will hear Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra by contemporary Austrian genius pianist and composer Frederick Gulda. It is our hope that this will be a surprise for many of you.
We will finish the afternoon with a monumental masterpiece: Symphony No.4 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, also known as Fate Symphony. It illustrates the composer's struggle between longing for happiness and the inevitability of fate.
We can't wait to share this incredible program with you!
