Woodland Park Players presents Monty Python's Spamalot
I APOLOGIZE, THIS SHOW IS FULLY SOLDOUT. PLEASE EMAIL LINDA@JOSSFAMILY.COM TO GET ON A WAITLIST.
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs.
CONTENT WARNING: PG Be ye forewarned: Spamalot! is not your everyday musical comedy This Monty Python satire contains some shi**y language, adult themes, and cartoon violence, which may not be suitable for young children.
It is in that very special form of comedy known as satire, which uses humor, irony, ridicule and the like to deride the folly of individuals, institutions and social structures. Like a certain animal you will encounter in Act II, if you stay that long, this show has some bite. Indeed, Monty Python is known, as the Brits say, for taking the piss out of everyone. (If that language offends you, please take solace in knowing we sacked the person who included it here.)
Seriously, we believe this show, taken as a whole, sends an uplifting message of inclusiveness and celebrates diversity. But on that circuitous, satirical journey, you may find yourself uncertain of whether some of what is included should have been. We invite you to embrace the show and the celebratory spirit we are bringing to it.
