Biophilic Design and Architectural Coatings
This course introduces the concept of biophilia - the human desire to connect with nature - and examines how paint, coatings, and color can have biophilic effects. The positive impacts of biophilic design on health, well-being, trends, and influences within a biophilic framework are presented.
Learning Objectives ~ Attendees will learn:
To give a definition of biophilia and outline biophilia's tangible benefits to well-being and employee productivity.
To recognize biophilic design features and design strategies in the built environment.
To recall the role color can play in biophilic design.
To explain how paint and coatings are inherently eco-efficient and can contribute to the overall sustainability of a building project.
To identify what moods and psychological responses are associated with what color groups.
To describe how different industries are incorporating biophilic color strategies into their interior design.
