CREATE & PERFORM YOUR OWN ONE PERSON SHOW
Create and perform your own one-person show in this intensive writing and performance seminar. Whether it's stand-up comedy, drama or tragedy, turn your life story into an evening of theater.
Immerse yourself over the weekend of August 5-6 with Jeannie Barroga, NEA-award winning playwright who will teach you all the skills necessary to transform yourself into a one person performer. Intensive writing workshops will help you develop and clarify plot structure, character development and unique twists in your story. This program will be limited to 10 participants to create an intimate yet diverse writer/performer community to help develop your work.
All students will receive one-on-one writing and acting coaching for four weeks after the weekend workshop to prepare for a performance of their work the weekend of September 15-16.
You'll perform in front of your friends and colleagues and to get the adoring AATC audience out to the show, we'll print postcards, promote the show and give you a DVD of your performance for your demo reel.
** If you aren't comfortable with acting in your own one-person show, AATC will find a suitable actor for your piece.
** Free Vietnamese food included during the intensive workshop weekend to keep your brain fluid in peak condition.
** Weekend Workshop Schedule: Saturday, August 5: 10AM - 3PM Sunday, August 6: 2PM - 6PM
